打磟
打磟 (daa luk, wheel spin): To spin the driving wheels on one's vehicle via its power plant, either accidentally or deliberately.
The resulting noise would be a squeal of tyres, with some dissipation of white smoke. Prolonged 打磟s will result in a thick cloud of smoke surrounding / trailing the driving wheel and a strong rubbery stench.
Also worthy to note is a trail which usually marks the path of the slipped driving wheel(s).
Typical ah beng1 reaction:
1. 啝,打磟哦!! (wo, daa luk o!)
This usually follows a quick squeal which the speaker overhears, while sipping Milo Dinosaur at the local mamak.
2. 哇妈閪2打磟哦! (wa ma hai daa luk o!)
This follows a rather prolonged squeal which the speaker overhears, while sipping Milo Dinosaur at the local mamak.
3. 哇吊你老母的臭閪，看到吗？打磟到几烂多烟(wah diu lei lou mou keh chao hai, kin dou mou? daa luk dou kei lan doh yin!)
One of the less common things in life. At point of composing this article, the author has yet to witnessed an actual exclamation. However, an in depth understanding of French allows him to extrapolate the swear graph and produce accurate simulations.
Notes:
1. An ah beng typically refers to an uncultured, Chinese youth with Far East fashion tastes. ah bengs are stereotypically rude and unpleasant characters. cf lala: A colloquial reference to any Chinese youth whose fashion tastes are very much inline with those of the Far East. lalas are possibly nice individuals.
2. A reliable online dictionary indicates 2 entries for 'vagina', with the first being ’肹‘ and the second being ’閪‘. The author chose the latter as ‘西’ seems to carry the 'ai' intonation better. In other words, he does not know how to read the first one.
